Pauliina's Journey of Discovery

Bridging East and West Through Tea

Born and raised in Finland, I’ve always sought out adventure and embraced the road less traveled. I've explored over 40 countries and spent nearly a decade living in East Asia—Korea, China, and Singapore—broadening my worldview in ways that no formal education could ever match.

As a Westerner who immersed myself in the rich tea traditions of East Asia, I understand the curiosity and wonder that comes from discovering this ancient wisdom from an outsider's perspective. Tea is not just a beverage; it's a gateway to a healthier, more harmonious life, deeply rooted in centuries-old practices.

For me, tea is a daily ritual that nourishes both body and mind, offering moments of mindfulness and introspection. Just as monks once used tea to aid in meditation, I find that each cup is a journey—both to distant lands and into the depths of self-discovery.

I’m uniquely positioned to guide you on this transformative path, sharing the profound benefits and beauty of authentic tea culture.

Tea Truths and Travel Dreams

  • What I wish everyone knew about tea: ALL teas have health benefits, not just green tea!

  • My tea pet peeve: There's tea, and there's herbals. Herbal tea is *technically* not tea, because it's made with plants OTHER than the Camellia family of plants - Camellia Sinensis is the tea plant.

  • My go-to morning tea is usually a strong Dianhong - black tea from China's Yunnnan province.

  • Top 3 on my tea travel bucket list: Yunnan, Northern Vietnam, Taiwan.

  • My most exotic tea travel experience: tasting the traditional drink of the Dong ethnic minority in Guizhou province, China: Oil Tea.
